iPad GPS: Turn Your iPad into a Portable GPS

Did you know that you can turn your regular old iPad or the new iPad 2 into a portable iPad GPS that will help you to navigate the roads and keep you from getting lost? Well, it is definitely possible to do so and there are actually a few iPad GPS apps that will get navigation on to your iPad. Lets not waste any more time and get right into the top iPad GPS apps.

GPS Tracker – This iPad GPS app is free.  While free is good and all it is not necessarily the best of the apps. However, since it is free you should definitely download it and give it a try. One of the interesting features that this app has is that it allows you to record your movements for review later on.

iPad CoPilot Live – All of the maps in this app are stored on the iPad itself making it the fastest of the iPad GPS apps. This app also has a great user interface, perhaps the best in iPad navigation apps.

iPad GPSMotion X – While this navigation app is not free, it is the cheapest paid iPad GPS app.  The maps seem to be straight from google maps and the interface seems fairly straight forward. I actually think that this app does not bring much to the table that the free iPad navigation apps offer.

iNavX Marine – This app is very interesting as it allows for you to use the iPad as a Nautical GPS device.  None of the previously mentioned GPS apps have this functionality. This app will run you $49.99 which is a bit pricey but if you frequent the high seas, it is definite worth the money to have nautical GPS on your iPad and is less expensive than other nautical GPS solutions.
