
The Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 has some impressive specs. It features a 10-inch high resolution display, a Tegra 2 dual-core 1 GHz processor, and supports for Adobe Flash Player Technology for an optimal video experience and smooth browsing, according to the Verizon Wireless website. The tablet is also set to have two cameras; a front-facing 2.0 camera for video chatting, a 3 megapixel camera for pictures, and 720p HD for video recording. If you want to capture nighttime pictures or videos, the tablet has built-in flash.
The new tablet will run on the latest version of Android for tablets; the Honeycomb 3.1 which provides support for USB peripherals, better animation and the ability to resize widgets vertically and horizontally and many other tweaks and improvements, according to PCWorld.
Another advantage the new Galaxy Tab 10.1 has is that it will run on Verizon Wireless’s 4G LTE network, which according to InformationWeek offers download speeds between 5 Mbps and 12 Mbps, and upload speeds between 2 Mbps and 5 Mbps.
“The Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 is a great option for customers who want to enjoy the Verizon Wireless 4G LTE network – the fastest network in America,” said Jeff Dietel, vice president of marketing for Verizon Wireless in a press release earlier this month. “Customers can also use the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 wherever they are on the nation’s largest 3G network.”
The Galaxy Tab 10.1 pc tablets was initially announced for limited release in a Best Buy store in New York City on June 8 with the possibility of pre-order on the same date.
The Galaxy Tab 10.1 comes in white or gray, and will cost $529.99 for storage capacities of 16 GB $629.99 for 32 GB. To get these prices, a new two-year Mobile Broadband contract is required.
