iPad Apple iOS 5 Review

Apple will be revealing some very exiting features with the iOS 5 and some of them are iPad-specific only. Right now, I am running iOS 5 on my iPad and I am loving it even if it is meant only for developers. For a developer release, I must say that this is the most stable dev release ever released for iPad. Here is the review of iPad and iOS 5:

Split Thumb Keyboard

Earlier it was not possible to type with thumbs on the iPad, but now with the introduction of split thumb keyboard, you will be able to get much better typing experience when using your iPad on the move. It allows you to move the keyboard’s location up and down to let you find the suitable spot for you to hold and type on the iPad.

Airplay Wireless mirroring

The powerful Apple A5 processor on the iPad 2 is good enough to wirelessly stream the iPad’s display to the bigger monitor / HDMI port that is connected to the Apple TV. This also means you still would not be able to use it with your Windows or Mac computer.

Note – This feature is available on the iPad 2.

Tabbed Browsing

Earlier, you had to rely on third party Mobile Safari’s alternatives like iPad Google Chrome browser or Atomic web browser but now you will be able to enjoy that functionality in the Safari Mobile itself. So yes, you will be easily able to switch between the tabs much easier than before.

Private Browsing

Earlier, private browsing in iPad was achievable through a Cydia hack, but now, it is built in to the operating system.

Wireless iTunes Syncing

Another very much awaited feature that has been introduced in the iOS 5 is wii-fi syncing. With this functionality, you will be able use the iPad without connecting it to the computer.
