Dell Windows 7 Tablet Computer Coming Soon

In the frenzy of Android tablets pc to be released, Windows 7 has fallen behind but with some new endorsement from Dell, the platform will be able to compete with the other tablets on the market.

On Tuesday, Dell announced a brand new line of business computers and notebooks but also surprised us with a sneak peek at an upcoming 10-inch Windows 7 business tablet.

Unfortunately for most consumers, the Dell tablet will be aimed specifically at the business market, similar to the HP Slate. General Manager Steve Lalla stated that the company will follow the strategy it adopted for netbooks and target education, medicine, manufacturing and financial services.

There were very little details given about the specifications of the tablet other than the fact that it will be run on what Dell called the "next-generation" Intel processor.

Here's the paragraph from the release:

Additionally, Dell plans to extend its existing tablet portfolio with a 10-inch, Windows 7-based business-ready tablet later this year. The upcoming tablet is designed for end-users who need greater mobility, as well as IT organizations that demand control, security, manageability and integration with existing infrastructure investments. Dell’s tablet will empower a more mobile workforce in a way that offers customers the business applications and corporate data they need, while meeting regulatory mandates and IT requirements.

The tablet will be coming within the next 30 to 40 days so more information regarding the tablet will be available in the near future What is a Tablet PC?.
